PATIENT CARE
Dr. Weiss provides all facets of general dentistry. He does, however, realize that the practice of dentistry has changes greatly and that each practitioner must find the niche that he or she is expert at providing. With this in mind, Dr. Weiss has focused his talents on the art of restorative cosmetic dentistry. He firmly believes in the utilization of dental specialists, such as oral surgeons (extractions and implant placement), endodontists (root canal), orthodontists (braces), and periodontists (gum surgery) when a patient’s treatment needs supercede the expertise that Dr. Weiss can comfortably and successfully provide. A dentist in today’s world cannot be expert in all facets of dental care, no more than a general physician can be expert in all facets of medical care. The procedures available include:
-
Comprehensive examinations, utilizing Panoramic Radiography, Digital Radiography, Intraoral photography, and magnification in conjunction with thorough clinical examination of the hard and soft tissues.
-
Superb preventive care and hygiene therapy provided by experienced dental hygienists. The needs of the patient are addressed based on the level of periodontal health.
-
Adhesive restorations (no amalgam or mercury containing materials are used nor have been since 1994). These are composite bonded restorations that reinforce the tooth from within while providing a fully cosmetic, tooth-colored result.
-
CEREC Custom Ceramic Restorations. Utilizing CAD-CAM computer technology, these custom porcelain restorations are fabricated under Dr. Weiss’ design and direction using 3D images of the teeth. The restoration is then bonded to the tooth. CEREC restorations can range from small intra-tooth fillings, to onlays used to repair fractured teeth, to full ceramic crowns. The additional beauty of CEREC restorations is that they can often be completed in a single visit, deleting the need for a return appointment and additional anesthesia.
-
Minimally invasive LASER periodontal therapy. Laser periodontal therapy utilizes laser energy to remove inflamed tissue, sterilize the site, cauterize the site, and stimulate dormant periodontal stem cells to produce new gum tissue attachments. This procedure can eliminate the need for invasive periodontal surgery and result in a healthy, maintainable periodontal condition.
-
All phases of crown and bridge restorations, porcelain veneers, and implant-supported crown and denture restorations. Single crowns, bridges, full-mouth reconstructions. These restorations are constructed under Dr. Weiss’ supervision at one of the finest local dental laboratories by expert ceramicists and metallurgists.
-
ZOOM 2 In-Office bleaching. Dr. Weiss originally began providing Brite-Smile bleaching in 2002. After hundreds of satisfied patients, we believe the ZOOM 2 system by Discus Dental gives superb results. The in-office procedure is coupled with impressions and custom bleaching trays for at home use to maintain a beautiful smile.

Cancer can affect everyone - young, old, healthy, infirm. Eearly-stage oral cancer lesions are painless and often mimic other noncancerous tissue changes in the oral cavity. Our advanced VELscope system allows visualization of tissue abnormalities beneath the surface of the mucous membrane in the mouth before the lesion is visible to the naked eye.
The overall 5-year survival rate for oral cancer is 52%. When oral cancer is detected and treated in its early stages, this survival rate significantly increases to as high as 90%. Other screening technologies such as mammogram, PAP-smear, PSA levels, and colonoseopy offer the same types of early detection of cancer. I strongly recommend this exam to all patients age 18 and older on an annual basis. Early detection can save your life. This examination of the oral cavity is performed for a fee of $67.
